Cha Eun Woo's Possible K-Drama Comeback with Go Min Si Amid Concerns Over Hong Sisters' Project

Cha Eun Woo, the popular actor and member of ASTRO, might be gearing up for another K-drama appearance, this time alongside Sweet Home star Go Min Si in an upcoming project by the Hong Sisters, known for their work on hits like Alchemy of Souls and Hotel Del Luna. While Cha is currently focused on filming The WONDERfools with Park Eun Bin, recent reports from January 9 suggest he may be joining Go Min Si in this new venture.

Cha Eun Woo’s agency, Fantagio, confirmed that the actor has received a casting offer for the Hong Sisters' project and is currently considering it. Meanwhile, Go Min Si’s agency, Mystic Story, confirmed her participation, stating that she is preparing for filming.

Not a Sequel to Hotel Del Luna

Although fans had speculated that the new project could be a sequel to the beloved Hotel Del Luna starring IU, Go Min Si's agency put those rumors to rest, clarifying that it is not a continuation of the series.

The Hong Sisters are famous for creating successful K-dramas such as My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, You’re Beautiful, The Greatest Love, and Master’s Sun, making their new project highly anticipated.

Fan Concerns Over Hong Sisters’ Past Controversies

While the potential pairing of Cha Eun Woo and Go Min Si has generated excitement, many fans are expressing concerns about the involvement of the Hong Sisters. The writers have been embroiled in multiple plagiarism allegations in the past, including the controversy surrounding their drama Hwayugi (A Korean Odyssey), which was accused of plagiarizing the internet novel Aeyugi. They were also questioned over similarities between Alchemy of Souls and the Chinese drama Ever Night.

As discussions about the new project heat up on online communities like TheQoo, some fans are questioning why Cha and Go Min Si would consider working with the Hong Sisters, given their history of accusations. Many fans are hoping the actors will choose to collaborate on other projects instead, fearing the backlash associated with the writers.

Despite these concerns, Cha Eun Woo and Go Min Si’s potential onscreen chemistry remains a point of intrigue for K-drama enthusiasts.
